The Ethical Culture Review of Books discusses books that raise
ethical questions, whether about private life or the public good. Reviews
of books that relate to Ethical Culture or have references to Ethical
Culture are especially welcome. The books for review will be chosen by
members of our editorial board and will include, but not be limited to,
nonfiction, fiction, and poetry. In most cases, the books we choose will
be of general interest and accessible to most readers, but we do not rule
out scholarly or specialized books.
The Review will highlight not only new books but also books
worthy of revival. Through the vast resources of the World Wide Web, it is
now possible to find a wide variety of books other than the latest best
sellers stacked at the mall superstore. We will often direct the reader to
new, used, and rare bookstores online where the books we discuss can be
found. It is also still possible in your very own town or city to find
excellent small bookstores as well as another wonderful source of books
you may browse and borrow at no cost: the public library.
Reviewers
include teachers, professional writers, Ethical Culture Leaders,
and other members of local
ethical societies.
The Ethical Culture Review of Books is meant to be a forum that
welcomes discussion. We invite letters to our editorial board, and we will
publish these letters at our discretion in full or in part. Submissions of
reviews and essays are also welcome, but submission does not ensure
publication.
For more information on
Ethical Culture, including information on the American Ethical Union and links to local ethical
societies, see the Virtual
Ethical Society. You can also find more books on
Ethical Culture. |
